The combination actually should work exactly the way advertised. Unfortunately the cord cubby was four pieces of wood partially glued together. Not only were they not completely glued to each other, the four pieces weren't cut so that they lined up. It was really embarrassing Christmas morning. We saw that it was falling apart and didn't even pull it all the way out of the box in front of the rest of the family. After considerable thought, we have glued it together as best we can. The construction was so bad that we don't have any hope that a replacement would be any better and we like the fact that it matches the multi-charger. Hopefully the manufacturer will improve their construction practices so that they put out an acceptable quality product. Get Bamboo
